This month we attended the Twin Cities Pride parade for the first time, enjoyed some ice cream from the MN Nice Cream truck, and then hung out in the Family Pride Lounge at the Lakes & Legends Brewing Company (our first time there as well).  Max adored the parade- handing out high fives to everyone and filling his bag with candy and stickers. He even got to high five Senator Franken (which of course I wasn’t fast enough to catch)! The ice cream was as good as it looked- what’s not to love about chocolate ice cream with glitter sprinkles?? And the Family Pride Lounge was amazing- we made signs, listened to drag queen story time, Max played giant Connect Four, and Finn got turned into a glittery lizard.

Welcome to my new blog! And what a perfect way to start out- the April edition of the Minnesota Project. The Minnesota Project is a blog circle of several MN photographers highlighting our exploration of MN each month. Last month, the boys participated in the Kids Climate March, which met up with the March for Science Minnesota, to bring awareness to the realities of climate change and to support funding and education for the sciences. Finn plans to be a “doctor scientist” someday- so it’s definitely personal for us. It was a perfect MN day and Finn made it all the way from the Science Museum of MN to the Capitol. Max was only in it for the police officer sightings- but whatever gets you there, right?
